Free Comic Book Summer is in full swing! The first two sets of free comics have already made their way to local comic shops across the country and around the world. But as fans set out to find those free titles, we want to take this opportunity to remind you of some best practices to make your Free Comic Book Summer search as easy and fruitful as possible!
Free Comic Book Summer (FCBS) kicked off on July 15 and will run through September 9. For each week of FCBS, comic shops will receive five to six Free Comic Book Summer titles in their weekly shipments. While shops may receive these titles on Wednesdays, their release dates will vary from shop to shop.
Retailers are encouraged to release the books as they see fit for their unique circumstances. Retailers may choose to release all of the books upon their Wednesday arrival, release one free title a day, make all of that week’s free titles available on the weekend, or any other plan that works for them. Free Comic Book Summer is designed to be flexible and customizable so retailers and consumers can get the most out the event, and
release schedules are not one-size-fits-all.
In order for you to get the most out of your comic shop visit, and to increase the chances of snagging that FCBS book you’re after, we recommend contacting your local comic shop before you head out to confirm if they are participating and when they are releasing their FCBS titles.
