Texas Booksellers Host Statewide Independent Bookstore Day

On August 5, Texas Independent Bookstore Day had its inaugural debut. Inspired by National Independent Bookstore Day, managers at Austin's BookPeople and the Brazos Bookstore began organizing the event to celebrate local independent booksellers throughout Texas. Hosting events such as in-store scavenger hunts, raffle prizes, author signings, and more, the bookstores reported the day as successful, and planning for next year's event has already begun.

Oni Press Expands Into Games Market with Oni Games

Oni Press (Scott Pilgrim, Rick & Morty, Invader Zim) has announced the launch of Oni Games, a new imprint dedicated to adapting the company's creator-owned titles for the tabletop game market.

Brian K. Vaughan was the 2017 recipient of the Eisner Award for "Best Writer" and "Best Continuing Series" for his popular space epic graphic novel Saga.
