How Your Library Can Participate in Halloween Comicfest 2017
Thank you for your support in spreading comics in your libraries and classrooms! This fall, we have our annual event Halloween ComicFest on Saturday, October 28. If you’re familiar with Free Comic Book Day, the idea is the same: patrons can go to a participating local comic shop and receive at least one free
comic.
You can find more information about Halloween ComicFest here, a full list of this year’s 30 Halloween ComicFest titles here, and an outline of age ratings for each title here.
Unfortunately for Halloween ComicFest, we don’t have donations available to distribute to libraries interested in holding their own event. However, we have two suggestions:
1. Partner with your local comic shop! You can find the closest one to you using our Comic Shop Locator feature. It’s important you get in contact with your local comic shop now, as the ordering period for Halloween ComicFest comics is during the month of July. Once July is over, local comic shops will be less likely to donate, as they will have ordered only what they need for their own use.
2. Order Halloween ComicFest titles via Discount Comic Book Service here. Using their service, you can order the comics easily and have them shipped directly to your library. The order cut-off date is August 3rd. If you do not think you can make an order by then, you can email Christina from the Discount Comic Book Service at firstlight@dcbservice.com and she will be able to assist you with the order process.
Please note: No comics should be distributed prior to the Halloween ComicFest event date on Saturday, October 28th.
If you decide to participate in Halloween ComicFest this year, please send pictures of your event to Diamond BookShelf Editor, Ashley Kronsberg at kashley@diamondcomics.com. If you have any questions, pleaselet us know.
Thanks!
