Dear Retailer—
Strangers In Paradise (SiP) is a story I wanted to read but could not find on the shelves, so I wrote it for myself. The premise is in the title itself—Love is a wonderful thing but we make it complicated. We don’t mean to, but human beings are
complicated. In love, we are strangers in a paradise.
At the heart of the SiP saga is a love triangle between Katchoo, Francine, and David. The alpha is Katina “Katchoo” Choovanski, who sees Francine Peters as the love of her life. Francine loves Katchoo but not in that way. Francine’s dream of the perfect husband-kids-dog
has been on her vision board since grade school—Katchoo was never on it. Now what does she do? The Will They-Won’t They dance goes round and round until Katchoo finally asks,
“When do we get to live as if we belong here?”
Into this roundabout comes David Qin. The gentle soul of David loves and accepts Katchoo with all his heart and he ultimately sacrifices everything to be with her in whatever role she will allow. And while Katchoo would prefer her life did not have this
complication, how can anyone with a heart turn away genuine love like that?
Our love story is set in modern day America, with David as the heir of a crime family in L.A. and his sister Darcy Parker as Katchoo’s vengeful ex-girlfriend. Darcy’s enforcer is Tambi, a 6’3” powerhouse who poses a serious threat to the well-being of
anyone who crosses her path. Katchoo was once a Parker Girl—an elite group of bedroom spies working for Darcy—and Darcy wants her star performer back. You do not walk away from the Parker Girls… but Katchoo did and now there will be hell to pay.
Strangers In Paradise took years to make, creating and publishing it one chapter at
a time as a an indy comic. During that time SiP gained a fanbase as loyal as the love it portrays. Because of it’s fluid sexuality themes, many readers tell me this story makes them feel seen and that SiP gave them hope at a time when they needed it most. I can’t think of a better response to a book.
Thank you for offering SiP
to your customers. You’ll be glad you did.
