ALA Announces Reception Details for Eisner Graphic Novel Library Grant Award Ceremony
The 2017 Will Eisner Graphic Novel Grants for Libraries recipients were announced in April, naming The Colorado State Library and the Institute of American Indian Arts. Sponsored by
Diamond Book Distributors, the presentation ceremony and reception for the awards will be held on Saturday, June 24th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM during the ALA Annual Conference.
High School Teachers Use Comics to Teach Classic Texts
Chicago-based high school teachers Eric Kallenborn and Ronell Whitaker have been using graphic novels to engage students with classic texts. From at risk students to AP level courses, these two teachers have had incredible success in engaging students with texts such as Beowulf and Shakespeare
with graphic novel adaptations.
