Released in their State of America's Libraries Report 2017, the American Library Association has named the top ten most challenged books of 2016 based on data collected throughout the year. This year's list includes several graphic novels including First Second's This One Summer, Graphix's Drama, and Image Comic's Big Hard Sex Criminals.

Comics Studies Society Presents New Scholarly Journal, 'Inks'
 
The Comics Studies Society of Ohio State University has begun production of their new journal Inks, bringing together scholarly essays, archival materials, and insights and discoveries from leading comics professionals. A preview of the spring volume of the journal is available and includes a feature of Drawing the Line: Comics Studies and INKS as well as a Q&A with Inks Editor Jared Gardner.
