Will Eisner Graphic Novel Library Grant Winners Announced

The winners of the 2017 Will Eisner Graphic Novel Grants for Libraries have been announced and will be honored at the 2017 ALA Annual Conference in Chicago. Funded by the Will and Ann Eisner Family Foundation and sponsored by Diamond Book Distributors, the 2017 winners are The Colorado State Library of Denver, Colorado and the Institute of American Indian Arts of Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Image Comics Presents An 'Authorless Event Kit'

In honor of their 25th anniversary, Image Comics has put together a free Authorless Event Kit for retailers and libraries. This kit is a 77-page guide to hosting an Image Comics Author Event, providing all the necessary resources and tools to host a successful event including book information, crossword puzzles, comics quizzes, coloring pages and more.

BookExpo's 2017 Buzz List Includes Two Graphic Novels

Every year, BookExpo features a series of "Buzz" panels to discuss the biggest upcoming releases for the year. The Buzz list features three categories and are chosen by a variety of committees comprising of booksellers, librarians, and other industry professionals. This year, the Buzz list includes two graphic novels: Spinning and The Witch Boy.

Max Brooks' Harlem Hellfighters Gets TV Adaptation

The History Channel has announced their plans for a tv adaptation of the best-selling graphic novel by Max Brooks, The Harlem Hellfighters. The TV adaptation will be a six-hour series that finds the 369th unit breaking down racial barriers, spending more time in combat than any other American unit and never losing ground to the enemy.
